About Us

Legacy Enterprises is a family owned and operated general contracting firm. Kirk and Kim Johnson are the president and secretary, respectively, of the corporation.

Legacy Enterprises was originally the Bert Williams Company and had operated in the Chicago land area beginning in 1927. However following the retirement of Kirk's uncle, Legacy Enterprises was formed in 1991 by Kirk's father, Newell Johnson. Kirk began working with his father in 1978 and has over 40 years experience as a carpenter and general contractor, and nearly 100 years of combined family construction history & knowledge. This legacy of home building is now in it’s 4th generation, with Kirk Johnson as president.

Kirk oversees all the job sites personally, and Kim is accustomed to working with architects, bank & title companies; completing contractor’s statements, change orders, payout requests, and waivers from the corporate office.
